Your Wardrobe Building Blocks

It’s important to ensure that you have quality basics, across all categories of clothing. First step, what is ‘basic’? Something that:

  • You can wear over and over again
  • Goes with every and anything
  • Is hard to live without
  • Will last a long time due to its quality
  • Glues your wardrobe together

Now that we have that covered, it is worth noting that our suggestions, though adaptable, will be personal to every person, depending on your individual style.

  1. Plain Tees/Shirts

Start your outfits with a clean slate. A white crisp shirt or t-shirt is a staple because it is a versatile, cool piece that can be worn at any time of the year. Work your plain tees by wearing them with prints, denim and as the perfect layer under knit sweaters. The options are plenty, really.

  1. Jackets

A classic trench is iconic, a denim jacket classic as it can be worn with anything through any season, and a blazer, for those Fridays when dapper is the name of the game. More so for the guys, a navy blazer is quite easily one of the most flexible items.

  1. Denim Trousers

Jeans that never go out of style? Dark wash denim. These are perfect for dressing up and dressing down, from day to night. We all need a pair in our wardrobe!

  1. Shoes

Boat shoes for the guys, doll shoes for the women (or brogues if you are more edgy than not). These are comfortable, can be worn to the office as well as a day out in town, and need to be in your closet like yesterday.
