Lemon water is probably one of the most common beverages we use to start our day. Water is great, but with lemon and a new array of benefits are added to the list. Below are a few advantages that come along with it:
- Promotes hydration- It is important for the body to stay hydrated throughout the day. This helps in lubricating joints and moving nutrients all around the body. A few glasses of lemon water in between activities also avoids dizziness by keeping the body hydrated.
- Radiates skin- don’t you just love when your skin emits that natural glow? The presence of vitamin C prevents the skin from drying and also wrinkling! This adds onto the nutritional value accompanied by it.
- Aids in digestion- drinking lemon water as a daily morning laxative helps prevent constipation. Drinking warm or hot lemon water when you wake up may help get your digestive system going.
- Freshens breath- that’s right, bad breath is something that cannot be evaded especially after having a spicy meal loaded with garlic or/and onions. Keep your breath fresh by having a glass of lemon water in between meals or first thing in the morning.
- Flavorful alternative to plain water- if you have difficulties keeping up with the recommended 2 liters of water you should drink in a day, lemon water is a good substitute for it. It can be spiced up by adding ginger and mint, you can have it hot, warm or cold and still hit the half a gallon mark!
