Status: In a serious relationship With Vegan Caesar Salad.

Red. Red. Red.

Red here, red there. Red everywhere.

Yes, Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, but you know the script too well. Your person always finds a way of leaving you on read instead of leaving you your favourite red roses.

They told you they were a fantastic chef, but all they cooked were lies.

They said they were patient, but all they did was stir the pot.

They said they were all about bringing the spice, but all they became was salty.

“That’s it. I’m done,” comes the epiphany. See, mama raised no wimp. So, you gather your inner Mekatilili with a sprinkle of Beyonce and usher him “to the left, to the left” because from the start, he was never right.

So Valentine’s is here. You are strutting down the street with your new sense of freedom. Your destination? The food market. Why? Because there is one toxic relationship left that you need severe ties with—junk food.

Besides, @Miss Berra-living on Instagram, has been saying her mannequin-like physique is thanks to her strict diet (Or a few secret trips to the plastic surgeon).

“Self-care first” is your new motto anyway!

And since you can’t wait to tell the girls you went vegan, you whip out the recipe you found on google and get down to business, and it reads like this:

The Vegan Kale Caesar Salad!

Ingredients:

1 bunch of fresh kale, washed and chopped

1/4 cup of vegan Caesar dressing

1/4 cup of croutons

1/4 cup of vegan parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste
3 table’s spoons of Rinsun Sunflower Oil
1 Red sliced tomato
Directions:

In a large bowl, massage the kale leaves with the Caesar dressing until the leaves are well coated.

Add the tomatoes, croutons, vegan parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper to the bowl and toss everything together.

You top it off with Rinsun Sunflower Oil dressing, then serve.
Once home, it’s time to retire to a warm cosy soaking in your claw foot bathtub. You add a few drops of lavender essential oil for a soothing aroma, with vanilla-scented candles creating an ambience that rivals a Ritz-Carlton spa if you go and…Ooouh! The steam from the bath creates a tranquil environment you did not know you yearned for.

You take on the salad bowl and help yourself to chunky, intermittent bites. You close your eyes and take in the delectableness of your newfound palate.

The crunch of the greens and the sweetness of the tomatoes perfectly contrast with the Rinsun Sunflower oil dressing doing a good job of tying every flavour together!

You cap it all off by leaning back against the tub and letting out a contented sigh. The tranquillity is indescribable.

You think, “Salads do pair well with self-love.”
