SELF LOVE IS THE BEST LOVE

When you hear of self-care, what comes to mind? Pampering yourself at the spa? Doing your hair? Getting your nails done? Taking a solo holiday? It’s all these and more. This month, we talk about self-care.

Self-care is a term we often hear a lot. We sometimes tend to associate the word self with selfishness. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. The opposite is true. We cannot take care of others before taking care of ourselves first. With that being said, let’s get into how we can take care of our mental, physical and emotional well-being.

Mental health is the most important type of health because it affects our physical, emotional and even spiritual well-being. How we think affects how we feel, act and perceive. There are a few things to do to improve your mental health.

Stress is a leading cause of anxiety which can lead to depression. Get regular exercise – just 30 minutes of walking every day can lift your mood. You can also practice yoga and take a gym or Tae Bo class.

Another way to boost your mental health is to avoid alcohol and other drugs. Sometimes people use alcohol and other drugs to “self-medicate” but, alcohol and other drugs only aggravate problems. It also helps to talk and share your problems with a friend or counselor. Don’t bottle your emotions, learn to share them with friends.

We can take care of ourselves by taking care of our physical health. Both mental and physical health are interconnected. Eating healthy foods is good for your immune system. Made from sunflower seeds, Rinsun Sunflower Oil has the nutrients Omega 3 & 6, vitamins, and proteins that help to strengthen your body’s immune system.

Eating fruits and vegetables fights inflammation, improves blood pressure, ups your fiber, helps your eyes, improves skin, reduces the risk of heart diseases, and is good for your blood sugar. Self-care also means eating healthy foods.

We also need to take care of our emotional health. Emotional health can be measured in three simple ways. The first one is calmness – being able to manage your emotions. The second one is resilience – the ability to cope with the strains and stresses of daily life, like work, family, and friends. And the third one is optimism – feeling positive about your life and future.

The old saying is true, self-love is indeed self-care. If you enjoyed this article, please share your thoughts in the comment section.
